A Hicksville native, I began by my musical inquiries through listening and singing to a wide variety of music at a very young age, playing around and improvising on the upper register keys while to while my grandmother played through the classics. After having taken piano lessons for a number of years, I discovered a hidden singing voice in my teens and quickly sought out instruction. After a couple great years of performing musicals and chamber groups, I was accepted into the the Long Island school for the Arts (formerly BOCES cultural arts center) in Syosset for voice studies concurrent with my senior year of High School. I earned a voice scholarship to attend the Hartt School, University of Hartford, Connecticut. While there, I continued piano studies while focusing on opera, classical song, movement, ear training, theater studies and music theory. Immediately out of college I worked a year in an internship with the (former) Connecticut Opera. This involved performing in main stage productions at the Bushnell Theater, as well as concerts and educational outreach for k-12 students throughout the state.

Further continuing my education, I earned full tuition scholarships to Boston University’s Opera Institute, as well as Philadelphia’s Academy of Vocal Arts. I also spent a year and earned Music Education certification credits from Brooklyn College, completing student teaching in Northport, NY.

As a musician, I have been active in choral ensembles, educational outreach, liturgical music, concerts, school musicals, recitals, operas and various other musical experiences with organizations such as the New York Virtuoso Singers, New York Choral Artists, New York City Opera, Verbier Music Festival, Opera Theater of St. Louis, Boston Lyric Opera, Connecticut Opera, Hartford Symphony Orchestra among others. Since returning to New York in 2013, I’ve had the chance to appear regularly with professional ensembles in venues such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln center, Brooklyn Academy of Music among others.

In 2014, I accepted a position as organist/cantor/choir director at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Hicksville.

2016 marks my 3rd year teaching piano and voice at iSchool — What an enjoyable and rewarding experience! As an educator, I have been teaching music privately and in studios for over 16 years. I look forward to working with you or your child in the near future — Come for a trial lesson!
