“Music is a moral law, as one of the missionaries of the music, I never regret!”

I received my B.M. in bass and guitar. I graduated from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music in 2016, and then came to the United States to attend the prestigious New York University to take bass master’s degree, instructed by jazz master Martin Wind, John Patitucci, Linda Oh, Michael Rodriguez, Andy Milne, John Scofield, Chris Potter, Adam Rogers et al.

I began by my musical inquiries through my family support. At the age of 5, my parents decided to sign me up for piano lessons at the local music school. I embarked on my music journey when I turned 16-year-old. I started lessons at Nanjing Art Institute under Professor Shen Junlin. In 2012, under the tutelage of Professor Liao Jiwen and Zhu Haiming, I received the national first place admittance to Shanghai Conservatory of Music. I was inivited to participate in the 1st and 3rd China’s Modern Jazz teaching seminar and won awards in both individual and group categories in 2013. Later in 2015, I was invited to the Shanghai Drama Art center where we went to Beijing’s Capital teacher to perform “Wang Luobin”, a large-scale cultural drama. The following year, I was selected to attend the South Korea Daegu International Music Festival (DIMF) and Japan’s Kanazawa City Music Festival (Kanazawa Jazz Street).

I am actively performing in various festivals shows both domestic and abroad. I am part of the Circle Jazz Quartet as the bassists – we have the highest level of modern percussion and have played at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music as well as being active in various International music festivals, jazz academic seminars. I also play for China’s large-scale musicals “Beach of ShangHai”, “You Are My Lonely”, “Sea Sound”, “Rent” as the master bassist.
