I have established myself as a vocal artist and music educator. From primary school onward I trained in Paris in vocal and piano. In 2014 I earned a B.F.A. in jazz vocal performance at CCNY. During this period I formed the grunge rock group Night Manager as vocalist playing many popular NYC venues; Knitting Factory, Bowery Bowl, Webster Hall. The band would win invitations to festivals SXSW, North Side fest and CMJ, issuing a 7″ vynil for the label Firetalk, released in the USA and a 7″ with Big Love Records in Japan. Night Manager has won critics praise from MTV Iggy, Rough Trade-U.K. and Pitchfork. Currently I teach vocals and piano while performing as vocalist-arranger for the Chic Suite jazz trio playing regularly in NYC. I will also be releasing my debut album this fall 2016 under the name of BEIJU.
“In private lessons, I adapt to the student’s needs and interests. My first concern when I meet a student is to raise their interest and curiosity about music. I find that when the student is fascinated about the instrument he is learning, his will to progress and learn more makes our work together much more efficient and improvement much faster. The desire to learn must come from the student, no matter the age. Learning music requires a lot of hard work, perseverance and self-discipline. I am here to guide and encourage.”
