My musical journey began when I first discovered a recording of The Who’s Tommy in my parents’ CD collection. The sounds on that album ignited a passion in me that eventually led me to studying classical piano at Juilliard’s Pre-College program, jazz piano at the Peabody Institute (B.M. in Jazz Piano Performance) and piano pedagogy at Temple University (M.M. in Piano Pedagogy).
My teaching philosophy stresses the importance of ear training and improvisation and has led me to developing my own original piano method, Patterns in Piano. My teaching style emphasizes listening and playing rather than reading and memorizing, which leads to a more natural and fulfilling learning experience that keeps students of all ages engaged and motivated. I can’t wait to help you or your child discover the vast wonders the world of music has to offer!
