I grew up in southern New Hampshire and frequently visited Boston, where I was trained in orchestral percussion. I also became immersed in the New England metal scene, where I played my first gigs as vocalist and drummer for Epicenter. During my undergraduate studies in music education, I immersed myself in learning the jazz drum set tradition, and went on to receive my masters in jazz from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. Since then I have toured, performed, and recorded with numerous ensembles utilizing my eclectic mix musical experiences.
My teaching method is personalized to each individual’s strengths and weaknesses, with an emphasis on fundamental concepts applicable to any style. I like to balance technique with musicianship, being sure my students understand why they are practicing something and how to apply it in whatever form of expression they choose. I strive to be a valuable and memorable mentor in my student’s lives.
