Born and raised in the Philippines, Soprano Mheco Joy Manlangit. She had the opportunity to work with renounced Voice pedagogues like Nelly Miricioiu, Robert White, Jr. Eva Mei which guided her to win numerous vocal competitions in the Philippines and abroad, she was awarded 1st Prize and Gamaliel Viray Audience Choice in the 2018 Jovita Fuentes Vocal Competition and 2nd Prize in the 2017 Singapore International Festival of Music Competition. As a well-rounded teacher, Mheco is well-versed in Musical Theater, Classical, Hymns and Pop style of singing. She firmly believes that technique should serve style, not the other way around. She utilizes SOVT(Semi Occluded Vocal Tract) exercises to promote relaxed and healthy way singing. She is currently pursuing her DMA in Voice at Stony Brook University under the tutelage of Jeremy Little, DMA.
